FIELD HOSPITAL
The Army field hospital was built in just 3 days by the Italian Army /Esercito Italiano) by the “Santa Maria della Misericordia” Hospital in Perugia. It officially came into operation with the arrival of the first patient a 65-year-old man from Perugia, on 12 November 2020 and it provides 34 beds for hospitalization and 3 for sub-intensive therapy. It is currently the only hospital of this type active in Italy in the fight against the coronavirus emergency and represents a further step in the safeguard plan put in place by the Umbria Region. The goal of the field hospital is to ease the pressure on the Santa Maria della Misericordia Hospital caused by the second wave of the epidemic with the hope that its use will be as short as possible.
